On Thursday May 18th, 2017 we're having our next Record Store Night with an incredible line-up as we welcome Ohbliv, Brainstory, Remy Kay, Ahnnu, and B. Cool-Aid. Ohbliv will be making his first LA appearance in quite some time. We are honored to have Record Store Night the first show of his LA tour. Next we have the band Brainstory from the Inland Empire bringing their signature blend of psyche, jazz, and soul, complete with a fresh self-titled release on El Relleno Records. We have the lovely and talented Remy Kay who will be playing her last LA set before she moves to DC! This performance will also be special because it will be her first with her live band, which might include some familiar faces. We also have Ahnnu who will be celebrating Family Jams Vol. 3, a split release with Ohbliv. Last but definitely not least we will have B. Cool-Aid giving us a preview of the music they have in the works. their album is coming this summer!
This is a free event and we will have complimentary craft beer for the early crowd thanks to Anchor Steam Brewing. Pure Filth will be in the building reinforcing the sound, and Novation will have their station open for you to test out their latest gear and hardware. Novation will also be raffling a free Launchpad Mini to the audience, so don't sleep on your chance for that. Endless thanks goes out to High Fidelity for always holding us down.
Record Store Night is a monthly event dedicated to showcasing artists of all genres with recent releases. It's a modern take on the classic promotional in-store event, except we make sure the sound is immaculate. We offer a free top-shelf craft beer selection, we hold the event in one of the city's premiere record stores, and we make it possible for artists to sell their releases directly to their fans.
Over the 18 months since we started, we have hosted many of Los Angeles' top producers including Daedelus, Jonwayne, and Ras G. We have featured many multi-talented ladies such as Thalma de Freitas, Sudan Archives, and Remy Kay - and we have hosted many notable artists' first ever shows in Los Angeles, just ask Norvis Junior, Tuamie, and D.R.U.G.S. Beats. If you're a regular, we thank you for your support! If you've never attended, now is the time. Thanks, everybody.
